Finished Reading: "Twilight"

So I just finished reading Twilight. It was seriously a good read! However, it did get rather bogged down with all the conversation between the vampire and his human, but truth be told I had a hard time putting to down! Haha, but now it's done, so I can actually get some more stuff done around the house.

Currently Reading: Dixie Cragger's Guide to Tennessee

At over 500 pages, there is A LOT of rock to climb in Tennessee!

I can't afford to ride!

My bike is in the shop AGAIN! It was just in last week to get some work done on the back brake to the tune of $40, and a week ago my tire pump fell out of a hole in my old dilapidated pack at a cost of $35, and a new pack at $110. and now i think my derailleur is all janked up, and a new x-9 runs close to a hundred. what the crap??? how is all this happening right now when i NEED to be saving money the most, and i'm trying to pinch pennies like crazy???

and that doesn't even begin to mention the flat tires, broken chains, and other smaller repairs.

and my bike was running so well for the last several months... i guess i should have known it couldn't last...

i may need to take up running. i can't afford to keep fixing my bike.

Mountain bike miles

Just went through and added up my singletracks.com ride log for this year, and to date on the year i have 328.75 miles on my mountain bike... almost all of them off road on singletrack!  Yeh, that's right!

Rock Climbing at Mt. Yonah

Waking up at 5:30 (yes, am) to go climbing at Yonah.  I felt super groggy, so I took a picture.  Yep, looked as groggy as I felt

So I got up at 5:30, drove an hour and 15 min., hiked in a half an hour plus... and they're still sleeping.  Seriously!

The lowers four... my first onsight on real rock!  Yeah, it was only a 5.6 though.


The sun FINALLY hitting the lowers, and we actually start feeling some warmth!  It turned into a GORGEOUS day!


Route 1A, it heads right up the nose of that arete.  I onsighted it... it was a really interesting route.  5.5
It was such a sweet day of climbing!  My first leads on real rock, and just an awesome time with Summer & friends!

Warm and Balmy!

So it's totally 65 degrees and sunny right now... crazyness!  But it is gorgeous!  And it couldn't be a better day for our 6 month anniversary!   ;)    Yeh, that's right!  She is truly a blessing from God!!!

This is the Ultimate Randomer Spot Guide. Included here are only locations which I personally have visited. The standard blue marker with the black dot in the middle denotes a mountainboarding location. All of the road locations also have a line showing the approximate length of the hill . But the best of the best mountainboarding spots are marked with a gold pin . All the ski resorts are marked with a snowflake . The green bicycle denotes mountainbiking locations. The standard green marker without a black dot in the center denotes mountainbike locations that I have not yet ridden.

A loss of sleep... due to a brand new laptop

My dad bought me a laptop as a graduation present, and it is shuweet! I have spent most of my free time the last two days tinkering with it, and this is officially the first blog post that I have written on it.

I'm 2 years old, going on 20!

My parents say that back in the day when I was 2, if someone would ask me how old I was, that I would respond "I'm 2 years old, going on 20!" Well I'm still not 20 yet, but as of today Randomer is 2 years old!! Randomer has moved twice and gone through some major transformations since last year (most notably the move to a blog), but it is still live and kicking (even if it's slightly subdued at the moment).

Other than being the 2 year birthday celebration, this also happens to be the March and April monthly updates. You're really getting a bargain with this email!

I was so proud of myself for that run... but the other day I ran a 10 minute warmup, and then I ran for 75 consecutive minutes; a total of 7 and a half miles. 15 minutes straight doesn't seem like so much anymore.
