I'm loving it! So stoked right now!

Edit: Also, I'll probably be texting in updates from my trip, as well as photos, so stay tuned to Randomer, because who knows what randomness will occur!

Currently Reading: "Rock Climbing Minnesota and Wisconsin"

I read about 40 pages out of this book today... and it had a load of awesome information! It contained a lot of the general stuff about access and and ethics, but also several views that I had not really read before. There was a pretty long section about the varying geology of the area as well. While it was very informative, it got a little bogged down in scientific jargon. And of course, the route descriptions and photographs... that's what you buy the book for, right?

Looking forward to hitting up Barn Bluff in my grandparents' town of Red Wing... I'm really hoping we get to spend a good bit of time climbing there. That'd be awesome!

is it gonna rain already?

So I was planning on biking all day today, getting in shape for my trip back to Wisconsin... but I checked the weather, and it was supposed to start raining and storming like crazy in an hour or so... but i decided to head out and do a quick nine mile loop anyways. I got home a while ago, and just checked the weather again.... and the forecast has completely changed! Just supposed to be overcast, with a couple of sprinkles for the rest of the day. Well what the junk? just wasted a bunch of ride time, and already have all of my gear put away. i'm probably going to eat some lunch, and get suited up to head back out and shred some more trail.

(rode Hawkes Creek already today... not sure where i'm going to head later.)

PS 3 more days until some crazy wisconsin action!

So what's going to benefit me more tomorrow:

a) sleeping in and taking it easy in the morning
b) going mountainbiking

Haven't decided yet. I really want to go biking, but i'm super exhausted right now. it's a toughy.

eh, sleep is for wussys (or people still recovering from the sickness)

So I found this photo lying around my photobucket, and was not sure if I had ever gotten around to posting it on here. I was actually impressed with how good it really was. Made me start thinking that I should start actually spending time on my photography again, instead of just taking "snapshots" and throwing them on the internet. Here's an example of what I could do when I actually put some effort into it.

Miracle Mercy

I read this awesome passage of scripture about a week and half ago in my quiet time, and it has really been sticking with me and impacting me. Just read this, and dwell on God's marvelous love and miracle mercy for the children He loves!!!

Psalms 107:10-16 (From the Message)

Some of you were locked in a dark cell, cruelly confined behind bars,
Punished for defying God's word, for turning your back on the High God's counsel--
A hard sentence, and your hearts so heavy, and not a soul in sight to help.
Then you called out to God in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time.
He led you out of your dark, dark cell, broke open the jail and led you out.
So thank God for his marvelous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves;
He shatterd the heavy jailhouse doors, he snapped the prison bars like matchsticks!

We need to live EVERY DAY like we are the children HE loves, the objects of His miracle mercy! That should change the way we look at every day, no matter how bad work sucks, no matter how poor we are, no matter how hard life is... we are the children he loves!

Live today like you are that child.

Harbins Park

Went to check out Harbins Park today for the first time, and it was sweet!

Here's the review I posted on singletracks:

trek7k is right on: this trail is a sweet ride! had a great time out there today. the expert loop definitely makes this place... i'm probably heading back soon to just spend some time doing laps the downhill section with all the jumps and berms, that stuff was awesome! and this place is way better than 2.5 stars.

Here are a couple of shots:

Photobucket
The jump into the expert loop... just a taste of what is to come! I didn't get pictures of all of the incredible berms and jumps because I was a little short on time... but I'm going to be back!
