Things to do before (or while) I die

Things to do before (or while) I die.

Yesterday a friend of mine was going to take me rock climbing, but we got stormed out (hardcore thunderstorms, tornado warnings, hail ... and other such stuff). I was hoping to be able to check rock climbing off the "things I want to do before I die" list (or, in my case, while I die doing those things that I really want to do.)

Things to do before (or while) I die:

1. Go sky diving
2. Go bungie jumping
3. Go rock climbing
4. Learn to BASE Jump and do it
5. BASE on skis
6. Get married
7. Lead someone to Christ
8. Mountainboard real mountains
9. Throw a 360 on skis
10. Do some lift served mountainboarding
11. Get into whitewater kayaking hardcore
12. Do a lot more wakeboarding
13. Ski all year long

Gnarly Crap

Gnarly Crap

Well, well. It's late and I should be hitting the sack, but I'm up trying to write something.

Well my 50th day of mountainboarding this year was definetly one of the best so far. As I noted yesterday, I found where all the good stuff was hiding at Memorial.

So today, started out easy and worked my way up on the big hills we found yesterday, and then I started hitting gnarly crap.

First up was the drop section. I kinda cleared out a small in-run to the first four foot drop which led to a small right hand bermed corner. Right after the berm sit 3 small rollers and a little straight away to the final six foot drop (at which time you're going pretty stinking fast so you just launch off of it.) Pretty stinking fun section.

After that I hit this dirt jump for a while. That was the first dirt jump I have ever ridden, and it was pretty fun.

Finally I finished up by riding this interesting little gully, and then we pulled out due to gnawing hunger.

All in all, an excellent time out riding.

Big Words

Big Words

By Goo

Written: 8/18/06

I just wrote and posted a Randomer piece. Lately, I've been doing most of my writing and stuff late at night. (Actuially, not really stuff what I mean is writing.) I think my mind just randomly gets overtly active at this time of the night.

I should really try to increase my vocabulary. Not that I mean I swear a lot, but that using biggish words is fun. I would really like to know more because you sound really smart when you use big words and I like sounding smart. Actually, I'm not sure that I do, (like sounding smart) but if/when I use big words correctly, I really impress myself and impressing myself is not an exceptionally easy thing to do.

Oh yes so now for what I set out to write. I was just thinking that it would be sweet to pubish a book (my grandma told me I should and I was like "yeah right.") But I decided that I am not very good at writing fiction, and when I do I can't/wouldn't be able to stay focused long enough to write a whole novel anyways so it'd pretty much have to be nonfiction, much like the last Andrew Schwab book I read, Insert title here (I can't think of it at the moment.) But yeah it was just a load of thought provoking or generally dumbfounding randomness.

Dang it's late; I should go to sleep.

Mountainbike-tastic

Mountainbike-tastic

Well, today was a land mark day in Goo's world of mountainbiking. Yes, I said mountianbiking. I went mountainbiking today, and it was the first time that I have ever really ridden single track at a place other than Levis Mound. Today I was riding at Memorial Park in Red Wing, and it was intense! Most of the trails weren't all that technical, but some of the features built into them were hardcore! Big 5 foot drops, 4 foot tall lips on jumps, some rollers, berms, some gnarly bridges, and this sweet teeter-totter that I actually did (my brother as a witness). I didn't hit any of the jumps because I have like 0 jumping experience on a bike, but tomorrow we're going back and I'm gonna board all of it and my little bro will take some killer footage.

Oh yeah, we finally found where all the massive hills were hiding whilst we were mountainbiking, but they turned out to be on the oposite end of the park. Fortunately, though, they all run down to like a golf course, and we will probably be able to park in the parking lot so the hike shouldn't be too bad! And I'll hit up the drops, berms, and jumps... Some of them look absolutely hardcore! It should be like nothing I have ever done on a mountainboard before. I can't wait. Hopefully I don't wreck myself up too bad. But some of that stuff looks intense! My bro should be able to get some killer footage, so look for it up here sometime in the not too distant future.
